This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of DukanBooks. By installing, accessing, or using the DukanBooks software or website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users who have downloaded and installed the DukanBooks application or visited the DukanBooks website (dukanbooks.in). By clicking "I Agree" or by using the application, the user consents to this Privacy Policy.

We may collect the following types of information:

• Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, and business details provided during registration or license activation.
• License Information: License key, activation status, and device identifiers for license validation purposes.
• Usage Data: Anonymous usage statistics to improve our software (only if opted in by the user).
• Payment Information: Payment details are processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store your credit/debit card information on our servers.

The User alone is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their username, password, and other sensitive information. The User is responsible for all activities that occur in their user account and agrees to inform us immediately of any unauthorized use of their account by emailing support@dukanbooks.in.

We are not responsible for any loss or damage incurred as a result of any unauthorized access and/or use of the user account. Performing necessary backups on data is solely the User's responsibility. DukanBooks is not responsible for any kind of data loss or data discrepancy.

The User owns the content created or stored by them. We respect your right to ownership of content created or stored in your account. DukanBooks is an offline-first application, which means all your business data (invoices, inventory, customer records, etc.) is stored locally on your computer and is never uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly use the Google Drive backup feature.

All business data is stored locally on the user's computer. If the optional Google Drive backup feature is used, data is encrypted with AES-256 encryption before being uploaded to the user's own Google Drive account. We do not have access to your Google Drive backups.

DukanBooks offers an optional feature allowing you to connect your Google account to automatically or manually back up your database to your personal Google Drive.

A. What data is collected and transferred?

When you choose to use the Google Drive Backup feature, DukanBooks generates an encrypted SQLite database backup file (.db format) containing your local business data. This file is directly transferred securely from your computer to your Google Drive account.

B. What Google User Data do we access?

DukanBooks requests access to the Google Drive API using the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file scope.

• What this means: We can only create, view, modify, and delete the specific backup files that the DukanBooks application itself creates in your Google Drive.
• What this DOES NOT mean: DukanBooks cannot see, read, modify, or delete any of your personal files, photos, or documents that already exist in your Google Drive. We do not have full access to your Drive.

We also request the userinfo.email scope strictly to display your connected email address within the DukanBooks settings page so you know which account is linked.

C. Use of Google Workspace APIs

DukanBooks' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Because DukanBooks operates locally on your machine and connects directly to Google's servers via their official API, we do not intercept, collect, or share your business data or your Google user data with any third parties.

You can disconnect your Google Drive from within the DukanBooks "System & Admin" > "Backup & Restore" tab at any time. You may also revoke DukanBooks' access to your Google account directly from your Google Account Security settings.

• Internet (optional): Required only for license activation, software updates, and optional cloud backups. The software works 100% offline for daily operations.
• File System: To store and access business data, generate reports, PDFs, and Excel files on the user's local computer.
• Printer: To print invoices, reports, and barcode labels on connected printers (A4, A5, thermal).

We use the following third-party services:

• Razorpay: For secure payment processing (subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy)
• Google Drive: For optional cloud backups (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)

Our website may use cookies similar to other software websites. Use of this information helps us identify you and make our website more user-friendly. Most browsers will permit you to decline cookies, but if you choose to do this it might affect service on some parts of our website.

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or delete your personal information
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Request a copy of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The User should review this Privacy Policy regularly by visiting this page. Continued access to or use of the service will mean that the User agrees to the changes.
